lessons from the future

had dinner at el rancho, a cheap yet really good mexican restaurant. 3 beef soft tacos, beans, and rice. the rice was sickly good. wish i had just gotten a bowl of that. afterwards i saw a movie, 2046, at the ragtag cinema cafe. it was pretty bizarre, yet good. and the ragtag cafe is a cool little joint. it's a theatre space, art gallery, and bar/cafe all in one. was able to drink a beer while watching the movie. they have an intermission half way thru the movie too, to get up and get more drinks or pee-pee. a couple of quotes stuck with me from the movie:

"memories are traces of tears."

"love is all a matter of timing. it's no good meeting the right person too late or too soon."

there was also a quote from the brothers karamazov by dostoevsky on the wall in relation to the artwork that was hanging. i wish i remembered what it was. it was quite relevant to my journey.
